Having studied composition under Barry Truax, Rodney Sharman, Alvin Lucier and Anthony Braxton and Great Highland Bagpipe under Colin MacLellan, Jack Lee, Angus MacLellan & Andrew Wright, he holds a BA from Simon Fraser University (1999) and an MA from Wesleyan University (2001).
