MasaM is a one man band that started in 1996 near Canton, Ohio(USA) consisting of Samuel Mertz. Sam was born in St.Marys, Ohio(US) on February 26th, 1976. He moved around alot due to his father's work. He took up music at the age of 9, learning to play the trumpet in middle school, but found it to be rather "boring". At age 13, his step-mother bought him a Harmony Acoustic Guitar. This was where Sam would learn to create his own music. Sent to private schooling, he had plenty of time to work with his true love.
