Manooghi Hi (which should have a space between the words) is a band based in Seattle in 2008 by Indian singer Mehnaz with a group of local musicians: Ava Chakravarti (backing vocals), Mark Nichols (keyboards etc.), Todd Fogelsonger (guitars etc.), Jimmy Thomas (bass), John Hollis (drums, percussion), and Jarrod Kaplan (percussion). They combine Indian sounds with contemporary rock in a highly dramatic way, with lyrics in English as well as other languages. Perhaps it could be called Bollyrock. They released their self-titled debut CD in 2009.
