Since 2001 San Francisco, CA, USA's madelia have evolved from their dreamy origins into an amalgam of angular dance rhythms, shoegaze and post-whatever. The bay area sextet is a band that that puts the mood back into music with aching vocals, sinewy guitars and a penchant for tunes that brood and lament. They have been likened to and clearly draw influence from Echo and The Bunnymen, The Cure and Siouxsie and the Banshees.
