Singer-songwriter Lorrie Matheson honed his writing and performance skills in the storied Calgary bands Anxious Poets and Fire Engine Red. Fire Engine Red's 1995 album 1530 spawned the single “Shank Pony.” After Fire Engine Red called it a day, Matheson spent some time Edmonton's Pal Joey.
