Long Conversations and the Closet Orchestra started in August 2007 in Leiden, The Netherlands when Olaf Caarls (25; guitar, vocals, harmonica) started playing solo shows more regularly. Through the Leiden based record label Minderbinder Music he released an EP, which booked him a place in the final for the “Grote Prijs van Zuid-Holland” -- which he subsequently won -- a spot on the Popronde festival, and, eventually, a place in the finals of the Grote Prijs van Nederland.
