Houston based Texan hard rock, but with some more intelligent sections thrown in, to make it worthwhile for entry here. A thinking man's hard rock album as it were, somewhat like Stud who were also from this part of Texas. Some processed guitar leads, ala Funkadelic, add to the positive sentiment.
