J.B. Hutto (born Joseph Benjamin Hutto in Blackville, South Carolina, on 26 April 1926; died 12 June 1983) was an American blues musician. Heavily influenced by legendary bluesman Elmore James, and known for his slide guitar work and declamatory style of singing, Hutto was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame two years after his death. In the 1950s he recorded in Chicago as J.B. Hutto & The Hawks. In the Hutto moved to Boston and recruited a new band and performed and recorded as J.B. Hutto & The New Hawks.
