For roughly a decade Imaginary Johnny has existed in several shapes and sizes. The project has gone from songwriter Stuart Wolferman’s bedroom-recording solo project of the fist album, The Upside of the Downside, to the darker and more collaborative sound of 2008’s Only Chimneys and 2011’s Dig. Of the debut record, Magnet said “Wolferman’s summery ballads flutter past like sweet visions of rose colored icing on a three-tier wedding cake.
