Nathan Yost, Christian Chidester, Daniel Owen, Carter Owen, and Ryan Zimmerman make up Charlotte, North Carolina's very own indie/emo rock band, Heartwood. Heartwood began its efforts with two local musicians (Nathan Yost & former drummer Andy Hoffman) wanting to start something new and rare in the Charlotte music scene. After considering many genres of music, their style was pinpointed in the winter of 2003 at a friend’s birthday party. Heartwood, a name chosen by Andy Hoffman for its simplicity and sound, was now only half formed.
