Håkon Kornstad's 2012 Concert History

Håkon Kornstad is a Norwegian jazz saxophonist best known for his solo project, where he layers saxophone with a loop machine and creates spontaneous compositions. His playing is inspired by saxophonists like Stan Getz and fellow Norwegian Jan Garbarek, but also contemporaries such as Mats Gustafsson. In 2009 he discovered opera at the Met in NYC, and decided to start taking singing lessons, resulting in a rather special turn for his career. In his own ensemble he now combines Scandinavian jazz and opera arias.
