Grievings is a fusion of blackened death metal and hardcore that originated in Lafayette, Louisiana in 2022. Formed by drummer Donald Joseph "D.J." Lavergne and vocalist/guitarist Rickey Lafleur, the band welcomed Ben Baum as their bassist in 2023, succeeding Spencer Dugas, who held the bassist role from 2022 to 2023. Their inaugural EP, "The Endless", debuted in 2023.
