Born Ian James Currie (1982) in Grantsville West Virginia, Ghani Gautama first picked up the mic in Myrtle Beach South Carolina at age 16 as the front man for rap-rock outfit, Pure Irate Souls. After relocating to Atlanta, Georgia in 2000 he linked up with DJ/Producer Metrognome and the duo recruited several neighbors and art school classmates to form Street Temple Emcees. With Gautama taking on the bulk of the writing and Metrognome manning the helm Street Temple recorded one album, 2005's "Asphalt Prophets.
