Generator Ohm came to be after the disbanding of Chewing Pics, a former NYC alternative band that both Chen and D'Amaso were a part of from 2008-2009. Directly after Chewing Pics' demise, both Chen and D'Amaso took some time off and apart to record and do session work for other projects in and out of the country(Chen having travelled to Taiwan to engineer and produce Boyz and Girl's self-titled album and D'Amaso working with Luqman Brown on his Dope Sagittarius project providing bass and backing vocals).
