fromis_9 (프로미스나인) is a South Korean girl group formed by CJ E&M through the 2017 reality show Idol School. The lineup currently includes eight members: Lee Saerom, Song Hayoung, Park Jiwon, Roh Jisun, Lee Seoyeon, Lee Chaeyoung, Lee Nagyung, and Baek Jiheon. Initially a nine-member group, Jang Gyuri departed on July 31, 2022. The group's name, fromis_9, blends the words "promise" and "from Idol School," symbolizing the members' pledge to become one of the leading girl groups. They were managed by Pledis Entertainment.
