Frantic Elevators were the maiden voyage for Simply Red singer Mick Hucknall, forming the band at the same time the Sex pistols and the Buzzcocks were in their prime. The band found some coverage from DJ's such as John Peel, so they didn't lose out completely. Despite the rough feel to the songs, they have a musically inspired and almost comedic appeal to them.
