Extra Fancy Concert History

Shamefully overlooked alternative band from the mid 90's. Featuring openly gay vocalist Brian Grillo, who also pounded on a 50 gallon oil drum, the band was rounded out by bassist, D. A. Foster, guitarist Michael Hateley, and drummer Derek O'Brien. Their sound was a mix of alternative, punk, and rockabilly, with lyrics tackling sexuality, sex and gender roles, abuse, life on the streets as a gay youth, and HIV. While heavy and angry, with an underlying fierce sexiness, lyrics were intelligent, honest, and thought provoking.
