DJ Chuckie grew up in Surinam and became influenced by the various music styles of that country. A friend of DJ Chuckie was a DJ. In this way, Chuckie started to take interest in being a DJ. From the age of 13 he started remixing and experimenting at home. DJ Chuckie gradually started to build up his own music collection.
