De Anale Fase is a Belgian singer/songwriter duo. They make sweet melancholic folk music. The surrealistic lyrics remind one of the Dutch Spinvis. About their lyrics they say: "Most of the time people die in our songs. That does not happen on purpose, it happens accidental. We tell them to live, but behind our backs they suddenly die anyway." This innocence can be found in their music also. The songs sound as if they are meant to be nice and sweet, but when the notes fade away, only melancholy remains.
