In 1981, multi-instrumentalist David Lindley released his debut studio album "El Rayo-X." To support the album, Lindley created a band of the same name. The following year, David Lindley & El Rayo-X released a second album "Win This Record!" with the band's third and final studio album, "Very Greasy," dropping in 1988. This last album was the only one released by the band to chart on the US Billboard 200 chart, peaking at number 174. After disbanding, David Lindsey continued on, performing mostly as a session musician for country and rock artists, perhaps most notably like Jackson Browne, with whom Lindley worked extensively throughout his career, appearing on ten of his albums.
