Born on May 10, 1946, Dave Mason began his music career in the late '60s as a founding member of the progressive rock band Traffic. After Traffic released its debut album "Mr. Fantasy" in 1967, Mason left the band, returning in 1968 to appear on the band's self-titled second album. Traffic broke up in 1969 and reunited in 1970 with Mason returning once again for a short stint in 1971. During this period, Mason also acted as a session musician for Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Derek and the Dominos, and several others. After his final departure from Traffic, Mason began a successful solo career that has spanned over five decades. During the mid-'90s, Mason joined Fleetwood Mac, appearing on its 16th studio album "Time." In 2004, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Traffic. His fifteenth studio album "Alone Together, Again" dropped in 2020.
