I'm an Iowan born and raised currently living in Brooklyn, NY. During my college years I took a year off to go to guitar school in hollywood. I lived with a Norweigan named Jardar. Musician's institute was more like the school of rock meets high school than a college... but it was quite amazing none the less. What they failed to mention in the brochure though,was that doing something for 10 hours a day, might not be that healthy. Enter a stress injury piled on an old shoulder injury from high school, and you've got a guitar school drop out.
