De Munk was chosen at 12 years old, to play the main role in the movie "Ciske de Rat" (Ciske the Rat, 1984). De Munk sang the title song "Ik voel me zo verdomd alleen" (I feel so damn lonely), which became a number one hit in The Netherlands.
