Cross Contamination was founded in New Orleans by Karl Contamination in New Orleans during the year 2000. Beginning with a harsh electronic/'industrial' sound heavily laced with noise the sound of Cross Contamination has varied over the years. 5 years after the conception of the music project in 2005 during the aftermath of hurricane Katrina Klippoth of Memphis was added to the current line up during work on the cover of Chemlab's "Codeine, Glue & You" which appeared on 2007's tribute to Chemlab "Songs From the Hydrogen Bar".
