Charles Edward Anderson "Chuck" Berry (October 18, 1926 – March 18, 2017) was an American songwriter, guitarist, and singer. He is one of the pioneers of rock and roll music.

In 1965, Memorial Auditorium in Dallas hosted the Five Americans, the Gentrys and Chuck Berry. I cannot find a reference to this concert anywhere, but I know that it occurred because I was there. My father took me and my little sister, and we got in with five Oscar Mayer wiener wrappers, and two dollars each.
Simetime in the summer of 1968 Chuck Berry played the Club Inferno in Williamsville NY. I know because I was there.
