Forming in the Bowels of Brooklyn from such bands as Yum Yum Tree, Books Lie forced a guttural middle finger down the throat of an increasingly fashion-conscious and vapid scene. They didn't have jet black hair, tight pants or the physiques of herion addicts and thier music embodied the virtues of "pre-Williamsburg renaissance" Brooklyn; endearingly blunt with no bullshit.
