Blackened Earth was formed in 1996 and quickly gained local attention by winning the Jackson County [Michigan] Battle of the Bands only one month after forming. Since then they have gone on to establish themselves as the premiere original hard rock band in Mid Michigan. In 1997 they were counted in the Top 50 unsigned bands in America by Discmakers. In 1998 � 2000 Blackened Earth played all over the Midwest and caught the ears of many showcasing at Indie Week in Nashville, TN and The Philadelphia Music Conference.
