Formed by Matt Jones and Eric Isbell in 1996, with Lucio Duran (of In Ether) bringing the nucleus of the band to critical mass some time later, Blackcell's distinctive brand of electronic exploration has since become highly influential in the Denver "industrial" scene. With the departure of Lucio Duran in early 2008, the current status of the group is unknown.
