Black Swan Green was formed in Brooklyn, New York in January 2008. The band spent six months writing and recording their first full-length record ,"the ruin gaze...", with the help of saintly friends and borrowed money. BSG do not wear their influences on their sleeves nor do they hide them. Multiple layers of guitars and reverb laden vocals owe a debt to shoe gaze while still maintaining an epic quality similar to Guided by Voices and the Afghan Whigs.
