Black Jesus Experience is a nine-piece Ethio-jazz band based in Melbourne, Australia, who fuse traditional Ethiopian songs with jazz, funk and hip-hop thanks to a membership that spans from New Zealand to Australia to Ethiopia. As well as their own releases, they are known for collaborations with Ethiopian multi-instrumentalist Mulatu Astatke as Mulatu Astatke & Black Jesus Experience.
