Formed in Summer 2007, Birth Rites are from Chicago and Iowa City and the band has continually played shows across the Midwest since then. Their first full-length album, All Success Stories, came out Spring 2009 on Mission Freak Records. Birth Rites is Jack Hennessy, Jarrett Hothan, Setu Vora, and Greg Markus.
