Actress/musician/songwriter Bia Bedran has won a number of prizes during her career devoted to the children, like the Prêmio MEC (awarded by the National Department of Education), the Mambembe trophy for the shows Música Para Brincar e Cantar (Music to Play and Sing) and Bloco da Palhoça (1981), and the Coca-Cola prize for Children's Theatre for the show Bia Canta e Conta (Bia Sings and Tells Stories) (1990). She has worked together with Nick Zarvos, Ana Maria Machado, and Sidney Matos.
