In 1997, when Bear Left walked into the Jailhouse Rock Bar for what would be their first bar gig, not a single member of the band could claim to have legally entered the establishment. Shai Korman, drummer-percussionist and eldest member of the band was then a mere 17 years of age. The trio had played their first official show about a week before at the open stage of the Yellow Door Coffeehouse. They were quickly booked by the manager of the coffeehouse and have been on a steady rise ever since.
