Aaron Berg was born in South Carolina along the foothills of the Appalachain mountains in 1984 and began his musical sojourn as an upright bass player for a variety of jazz, folk, and blues groups. At eighteen, he moved to New York City to attend the New School but left two years later disillusioned with the jazz scene and eager to reconnect to his southern roots. In 2004, he played at the Windgap Folk Festival with Peter Rowan [Bill Monroe, and Old and In The Way].
