Все почалось в далекому 1992 році. Саме тоді було створено гурт «Механічний апельсин». З самого початку гурт отримав стабільний склад і до 1994 склад гурту був незмінний. Головним досягненням було звання лауреата першого фестивалю «Цвіт папороті-94», а також велика кількість концертів.
