DNCEย are an American dance-rock band consisting of lead singerย Joe Jonas, drummerย Jack Lawless, and guitaristย JinJoo Lee. Bassist and keyboardist Cole Whittle left the group shortly after their hiatus in 2018 to focus on solo projects. DNCE's music is mostlyย dance-rock,ย dance-pop,ย pop rock, andย funk. The band signed withย Republic Records, who released their debut single, "Cake by the Ocean", on September 18, 2015. The song reached the top 10 on several charts, including on the USย Billboardย Hot 100, where it peaked at number nine.
