This was my first ‘ever’ rock concert. The headliners were The Supremes. Along with The Fifth Dimension, Johnnie Rivers and Brenda Holloway. This is how diverse the AM radio music scene was in LA in 1967. But it was the Buffalo Springfield and The Seeds who I really wanted to see. The Buffalo Springfield came on first, so the could catch a plane to San Francisco, to play the Fillmore Auditorium the same evening. I saw them two months or so before they played at The Monterey Pop Festival. The Seeds stole the show, Sky Saxon was amazing, we had box seats. The evening was billed as, KHJ’s Second Appreciation Concert. This evening changed my life completely, I’ve been attending rock concerts ever since, and I haven’t stopped yet. I’ve been known to travel distances just to see a band. I’m so glad I grew up in LA.
