The Allman Brothers Band
Incredible concert. For those of you who weren't going to concerts back in the late 60's, Canned Heat was one of the top bands at the time and this concert was no exception. Allman Brothers were just really coming on due to Duane Allman's incredible guitar playing. Sat 4th row dead center. Canned Heat's albums never lived up to what one of their concert were. Larry Taylor, AKA The Mole, the bass player would bring the house down with his incredible energy. Bob "The Bear" Hite who make you feel like you were hanging out with friends. We well known for a few songs, Goin Up Country and On the Road Again were the most well known, but if you went to one of their concerts it was all about the Boogie. At Woodstock Canned Heat was paid more than twice what the Grateful Dead were paid and more than 8 times what Santana got. It gives you some idea of how popular they were. Usually had great seats at the Fillmore and this was no exception.
