I saw Metallica at the Rose Bowl years ago, and this was nothing like that concert. The sound was terrible, and the vocals were amateur. I don't know their songs by heart, but it sounded like they didn't either. The rendition of "Sweet Caroline" was worse than a dive bar karaoke version. Also, the video towers were curved so you didn't get a full view of the pictures and movies. I waited a long time for this show. It was a graduation gift for my son. I will think twice before getting tickets to the next tour, if there is one. I'm sorry for the rant but I expected more from such a successful and decorated band.

Show #148 Luck was not exactly on my side this weekend. This night I made sure to be here nice and early so I don't miss Ice Nine Kills and I tailgated with my high school buddy, Mike Phillips for a bit. It started pouring as we headed to the venue so we went in soaked. Then when there were threats of thunder/lightening, the whole field and stands had to be evacuated and we had to wait out the storm inside. After a while, it began to look like the show might be cancelled and we heard that the state extended the 11pm curfew for Gillette to an extra half hour. As it turned out, we were able to go on with the show at 8pm rather than the 6pm start time. Unfortunately, Ice Nine Kills had to be axed and 5FDP had a shortened set. Though short, they still did an amazing job pumping up the crowd and kept the experience very positive. They sure know how to work a crowd. Then Metallica came out to play the second of their "No Repeat Weekend" and completely blew our minds. Such a good band. I'll always love these guys. Love the theatrics and pyrotechnics that went alone with "One". Still and A+ show!!!
