09/24/2024: My good friend Juan Tamayo, from Mexico City has spoken highly of Terror Cosmico. I’m flying out on the 19th to LAX the next day, so I couldn’t pass this up, plus Juan will be there.
I’ve seen Ruinas before, and they’re really good, the other “bandas invitadas” (supporting) I’ve never seen before, but if they’re anything like what I’ve been witnessing in GDL, they’ll be good. Mexico has a huge metal/stoner/doom audience and presence, it’s unbelievable, probably one of the biggest in the world.
As usual, I’ll keep you posted.
10/192024: Last nights show was pretty impressive. By far the best band that played was the first opening act, Purple Hermits, an amazing band. A power trio (my personal favorite), playing all instrumentals, with lots of psychedelic guitar. Both Juan and I were pleasantly impressed, and surprised. Terror Cosmico were hot too, a duo from Mexico City. Ruinas were pretty good, better than the first time I saw them. An excellent night of Stoner/Doom.
