My first time seeing Sgt Papers, a band out of Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. I’ve read quite a bit about them, they’re one of the top bands out of Hermosillo. My wife lived in HMO for awhile, that kinda adds to it. At the moment we’re in San Diego visiting the kids, on Sunday night I’m seeing Earthless, oh yeah, it’s vacation time. I’ll keep you posted. Update: First of all, the Tower Bar is tiny, a dive if you will, but cozy, I sat in a booth all night, quite comfortable. The opening band, Axxident (Tijuana), really impressed me, a duo with a bluesy rockabilly sound, an excellent sound, and in good form. Razor Nights (San Diego) had more of a punk band sound, a trio with a lead vocalist, not bad. Then it was Sgt Papers, a duo from Hermosillo, MX, were quite pleasant, lots of guitar effects, which I’m a fan of, and it kept the sound nice and full. I wouldn’t say it sold out, but there was a good size crowd there, all in all, I had a good time. Until my next trip to San Diego, keep on tripping, and y’all take care.
