My first time at a club fest in Europe. I’ve been wanting to go to Germany for obvious reasons, there’s so many Stoner/Psych bands there. The Amon Düül II show in London postponed AGAIN!, so I decided that it’s time to move on from that (damn!, I was really looking forward to that). So my wife Xochitl and I decided to go to Germany in October to celebrate our birthdays. It just happens to be the same time as the Heavy Psych Sounds Fest, lucky for me. On this particular day, I’ve never seen any of these bands, but I’ll keep you posted, that’s it for now.
Sorry for the late update. Day one of the HPS Fest was excellent, it was held at the Lido, in Berlin. I met the Stage Manager of The Damned, Mano, who was working both days. A big Thank You to Linda Reichenbach for the most comfortable, and only seat in the house. An incredible view, even better when I stood up. The Lido was a nice venue. All the bands were good, but the one band that totally blew me away, was Giöbia, from Italy. They were trippy, spacey, and they rocked. I had to stand and boogie rock/dance the instant they came on stage. Giöbia was amazing! Then it was Nebula, I really liked them too. Honestly, all the bands were good. I ate some micro dose shrooms and had a good time. I’m glad I decided to go to this HPS Fest, flew all the way from Guadalajara, Mexico. Berlin is a lovely city, I highly recommend everyone to visit. Best vacation I’ve ever had.
