All I can say is, it was a great experience. That many people and everyone was lovin’ it! Great time to be young!
I still remember the best part of this concert. It was a very hot day. Many people carried in gallon milk jugs filled with water, or alcohol. When Ted Nugent took stage everyone started throwing the jugs towards the stage. The sky was full of milk jugs it looked like a snow storm. Ted encouraged the crowd to keep throwing them on stage. Ted was kicking these 4-5 foot piles of jugs back off the stage into the crowd while ripping on the guitar. Amazing site, with an amazing music line up. It can never be repeated.
was there with my friends
did steve perry front for journey that day as one of the groups brought on a new singer and I thought it was perry but wiki says he didnt go live with journey until later that year but I know one of the groups said now we are going to bring out our new lead singer
I was 17, this was a day I'll never forget! It was a hot one, everyone had their own water jugs. Ted Nugent was the last band and wouldn't start until all the Police were out of the building! When he played 'Stranglehold' everyone went CRAZY!! Well...a wave of water jugs were being passed through the crowd to the stage and ole Ted Nugent was kicking them off the stage not missing a lick on the guitar!! It was quite a sight!! It was an awesome end to a great day of Rock & Roll
I was 17 at that concert, it was amazing! Wish I could help with set lists but it's also a bit of a blur - age and what can I say, it was the 70s, we were havin'fun!
It would be nice to see pictures of this.
I seem to recall Nugent playing last. For a set he did pretty much the Double Live Gonzo album
