This was Prince' first ever concert in Germany and the first time I ever encountered an audience I would describe as on the brink of hysteria. Rows of chairs were set up in front of the stage separated by the rest of us thousands behind a metal barrier. At one time the crowd surged and moved that barrier en masse considerably. We were jammed in so tight, I couldn't lift my arms. People had to removed throughout the concert as they felt close to passing out. It was intense.
