This was the first show I went to with Maria! I would not have went to this concert otherwise, but I am happy there was a neutrally accommodating show this particular weekend that we were able to agree on. I was very nervous, but I think during the stage set up before Surfer Blood we started to talk more easily and built a connection. Also, it happened to be Fathers Day and Surfer Blood decided to give everyone a 45" as a gift - so that was cool. I think that I liked Winter more, even thought I'm not sure how independently entertaining their music really is. I did like how they transitioned songs, and don't think I have experienced other artists using a typically uneventful space like that in a set and making it interesting with such an intentional fluidly cacophonous sound.
