Mike Nesmith was the first rock star I ever met, back in the early 1970s when I interviewed him for BAM Magazine, walking around the streets of Carmel-by-the-Sea with his then-wife Kathryn. I saw a solo show in San Francisco in the late 70s/early 80s, and then this Mike & Micky show. So sorry that there'll never be another.

The Babys gave a great show. Sadly, Nick Gilder as the opening act was pretty terrible. It's the only time I've seen a band literally booed off the stage. They tried to save themselves by jumping into "Hot Child in the City," no doubt earlier in the set list than they wanted, but that didn't work, either, and they left after five or six songs. When the Babys came out, the crowd's mood changed and they (we) were most appreciative.
