I travelled from Ayr to Glasgow to stay with family with the idea to get up very early the following morning to be on time to buy tickets at Green's Playhouse for The Who. I walked past the venue when I arrived and to my amazement there were already a few hundred people queuing up out side at 10pm the evening before. I decided to just join the queue there and then and stayed up all night. They planned to start the sale of tickets at 10 am but brought if forward by 2 hours to 8 am at the police request. By 8 am the place was absolutely heaving and windows were getting smashed in of local shops, not thorough vandalism but through the pressure of heaving bodies....was an absolutely crazy scene.....but I did get my 3 tickets!
