It seems like I keep remembering things, the keyboard player should be mentioned, his voice did not match the way he looked, he could really sign, but boy could he play keyboards, easily as fast as Yngwie, it was some incredible playing. Nick Z Marino, oddly enough he was the keyboard player for KC and the Sunshine Band before Yngwie, now that is a crazy transition. how does that happen.

The first band Sunlord was from NYC and were quite good, the vocals weren't really what I like but still top notch playing especially from a 3 piece band. The only played 4 songs but it was cool, the drummer was especially good. The next band was Images of Eden, unlike Sunlord who were a bunch of 20 year old guys, this band was more Yngwie age. They were from Phoenix, and it seemed like a mix of heavy Christian rock, the singer mentioned a former addiction issue and how you can get past it, apparently he did. They sounded great. Then the smoke started, literally there was a lot of smoke, he opened with Rising Force and soon said he liked smoke but it was a bit too much, they dialed it back a bit. He was just like I pictured, ridiculously fast, absolutely amazing, hadn't lost anything over the years, but you might as well had an bubble over his head saying EGO, flashing repeatedly, it was something that was also expected. he had half the stage and the drummer, keyboard/vocalist and bass were all jammed into the left part of the stage. At different times in the show both the drummer and singer gave exasperated looks as Yngwie changed things up. The bass player though must be the happiest guy on earth, I think he smiled the entire time. He played a great mix of old an new, Far Beyond the Sun had The Star Spangled Banner in the middle which was awesome and surprising. Many times during the show he would by hand signal tell the band to get quite and he would play some amazing things, just fun and exciting to see how much he could do, I really felt bad for his guitar tech at stage right who he tossed guitars to, he seemed unhappy the entire time suffering through Yngwies ego, it was very noticeable. He mainly played his Fenders but also play acoustic for a short time which really was amazing to hear. They ended the show with Blackstar, the audience was good, but at times during the show Yngwie would hold a note and wait for the audience to cheer, he needed a lot of cheering! He was great, I'm so glad I got to see him. I tried to but Parrabellum and a Shirt but the wifi was down and I had no cash, at least I saved some money, there was a signed with his photo on it humidor for $400 no one bought that. For $400 you could have done the meet and greet. Would go and see him again. Great show.

For years I've wanted to go see him in concert. Tom and I were in the record store at the mall in in the late 80's looking through music when he says what is this and how do you say that name, it was the album Rising Force, so we settled on Wingy at the time only because the internet didn't exist yet and we were too lazy to figure out how to actually say it. Yes eventually we did learn how to but for years it was Wingy, and we bought the album that day and then the next couple. Never had we heard anything like that. It was so different and the vocals on some tracks at the time made us laugh and we made up silly lyrics like the Wingy name to match. So the show was late. John 5 dropped out of the tour due to covid fears, I didn't know that, I would have liked to see him too. There were no less than 50 Marshall heads on the stage, not the loudest show ever but fairly loud.
