What a blast I was 21 n my mate was 20 found out the gig in Port Macquarie dole office as we were from Adelaide travelling the east coast and needed some money so we packed the speaker boxes with casks of wine and headed for the national park to be greeted at the gate by the local residence setting up as we come in a week early we had trail bikes and got offered the job of security picking up people off their chops tripping etc first night we got stuck in the creek as we went went one creek too far from the campgrounds. The owner of the property brought a tractor and pulled us out of it the next morning which slept in the HQ wagon with the water running through it all night ended up in the proper campground meeting lots of people that were going to work there running the beer tent etc. We just riding around in the forest picking up people as there was a lot of escapes trying to come in without having to pay. The bands were awesome and the free firewood. The farmer dropped off every day onto the terraces was unbelievable, too, we got to spend three weeks in total with the owners son who the reason for the concert was for his 21st and it brought them in a little bit of cash as well. Estimated 20000 people . Doing it on their property. Be good to see some other people stories, one of the highlights of my life that’s for sure. Just another trip Kiwi n Rooster encountered.🍻

Wow 40 years ago, Just 18yo. I remember catching a bus into the national park, and climbing a fence with all our camping gear. I remember Doc Neeson being larger than life: climbing the scaffolding in front of the speakers while they performed one of their songs. I also remember watching Dragon, Redgum and Eurogliders. I wish I could remember more. I'd love to see any photos or videos and read people's memories of the weekend.
