i can't imagine a more symbolic of our times encore than the divine comedy did tonight of "sweet child of mine" (although he didn't know all the words neil had his axl DOWN), "purple rain", and "champagne supernova". a v. good show, lots of new stuff which was nice but also "tonight we fly" (my favourite d.c. song) and "national express", "your daddy's car", "becoming more like alfie". no "gin-soaked boy" or "generation sex" or "perfect lovesong" but hey... the guitarist played "lucy" right before they went on but they didn't do it.
i called out for "my lovely horse" but he didn't hear me. then someone else did later and neil commented "ignore (cough.....)".
